It’s treat time… Head into Ice Cream Union and indulge with a beautifully crafted banana ice cream.
Growing outside Ice Cream Union is a banana plant. While the plant may flower in London, the fruit is not likely to ripen. The leaves of the plant however, can be used in a variety of ways including as a serving plate (found often with South Indian Food) or used in cooking to seal moisture and flavour within a meal. Fish can be steamed by wrapping the leaf around it (use firm-fleshed fish) with seasonings of your choice – think herbs, garlic, ginger or curry paste. Head here to get some tips!
Approximately one third of all the pineapples in the world are produced in Hawaii. Pineapple plants cannot be grown from scratch in London as they will not fruit. Why not treat yourself to the delicious pineapple inspired dessert from Wulf and Lamb that consists of strawberries, pineapple mousse, meringue and whipped cream.
